A custom WordPress calculator that turns complex revenue-share, tier, and stock-award rules into a clear, interactive customer experience.

The Challenge
A real estate company wanted to give agents a simple way to understand the potential financial impact of a multi-level revenue-share and stock-award program. The underlying compensation model wasn’t simple. Potential revenue depended on multiple sponsorship levels, the number of directly sponsored agents, tier-unlock requirements, reduced payout levels, stock awards, production milestones, and changing stock-value assumptions. Explaining those relationships through static website content or spreadsheets made it difficult for an individual agent to answer the question that mattered most: “What could this look like for me?” The company needed a tool that could translate a complicated compensation structure into a clear, interactive experience directly on its website.
Our Approach
26 Pins developed a custom WordPress plugin that transforms the program’s business rules into an interactive revenue-share and stock calculator. Instead of presenting visitors with generic examples, the calculator allows users to enter their own assumptions and immediately see how the model responds. The custom application incorporates:
Calculations update based on the user’s inputs, turning a complicated financial structure into an interactive planning and education tool.
Solution Detail
The most important part of the project wasn’t building a calculator. It was translating the business rules behind the program into something a visitor could understand and use.
For example, deeper revenue-share levels aren’t simply calculated by multiplying agents by a fixed value. Eligibility and payout can change depending on how many agents have been directly sponsored.
The calculator incorporates this logic and shows users both their calculated revenue and potential missing revenue when a deeper tier hasn’t yet been fully unlocked.
This allows the application to do more than provide a total. It helps the user understand what is driving the number.
Solution Detail
Traditional websites primarily present information. Custom applications allow a website to become part of the business process.
In this case, visitors aren’t simply reading about a revenue program. They’re interacting with it, entering their own assumptions, exploring different scenarios, and seeing the potential effect immediately.
The experience helps turn an abstract compensation structure into something tangible and personally relevant.
Solution Detail
Rather than sending users to a separate third-party calculator or requiring the company to maintain another software platform, the functionality was developed as a custom WordPress plugin.
This allows the calculator to operate as part of the existing website experience while providing functionality specifically designed around the client’s business requirements.
It also gives the organization greater control over the experience, presentation, calculations, and future development of the tool.
Solution Detail
The calculator is designed as an illustrative modeling tool rather than a data collection mechanism.
Users can explore different team structures and financial scenarios without their calculator inputs being saved or transmitted.
This allows visitors to experiment freely while keeping the experience focused on education and planning.
The Outcome
The company now has a custom digital tool that makes a complicated financial model easier to understand.
Agents can model their own scenarios, explore the relationship between direct sponsorship and deeper revenue levels, evaluate different stock-price assumptions, and see an overall picture of potential revenue and stock value.
The resulting output can also be printed or saved as a PDF for future reference.
What previously required explanation, manual calculations, or spreadsheets can now be explored directly through the company’s website.
The Bigger Impact
A website doesn’t have to be a digital brochure.
When custom functionality is built around a real business need, it can become a sales tool, educational resource, calculator, workflow, or application.
26 Pins combines WordPress development, custom plugin development, business logic, and user experience design to build tools that go beyond displaying information.
The goal isn’t simply to build a website. It’s to identify what the business needs the website to do—and build it.
